FAQs

Do I need a referral from my doctor?

Yes. Your child's primary physician will order the appropriate test by sending a written referral to our facility.

Does my insurance cover this kind of test?

Most insurance companies have available benefits for EEG, sleep and long term monitoring. See our Insurance page for more information.

How long does the test take?

Depending on the test(s) ordered by your child's physician, a patient may be at our facility from two hours to overnight. You will be advised about the length of your stay during scheduling. Ample time will be given for you to make the necessary arrangements for other family members and obligations.

When are tests scheduled?

EEG and MSLT observations are scheduled during daytime hours. Sleep studies begin around 7 p.m. and end the following morning.

When can I get the results?

Your study will be reviewed and interpreted and results will be sent to your referring physician within 72 hours after completion of the study. Evaluation time may vary depending on the depth of the study requested by your physician. To receive results, you should contact your doctor.
